Recently I've come across a series called "Not the 9 o'clock news" .(Inone skit they're making fun of ABBA's music videos, its really cool...) It showed here a few years ago (despite having been made in the late 70's , early 80's....hahaha so much for reruns)
and its very funny...mind you not full-blown Monty Python funny, but still, its more up to standard that today's sitcom drivvle. I mean, you can kick out a sitcom under every bush these days. As for very popular sitcoms, Im going to be controversial and say that I never found Friends funny or entertaining in the least.
As for the actors, no matter what movie they do, they're still being their Friends' persona, just with another name and co-stars.
One of the good things about this series is Rowan Atkinson being bitingly funny, its actually a shame he began with the stupid Mr Bean character cos now most people associate him with the character - he's so much more talented than a guy with a teddybear who only makes little grunts and drives a mini......
And plus he was very young there, so he had extremely 70's hair...
Other shows to watch::
Red Dwarf , Black Adder, Thin Blue Line.....
And of course "And now for something completely different" which is a film that contains the best from the Monty Python and the Flying Circus skits.
Go watch it :)
