Fly Hunting

Hey :)
Long time no post, I know, but many hours of Sims and sleeping has been taxing me of late, so I apologise for the lack of news - truly, where I live , nothing's going on.

My dad has a reptilian/amphibian bloody zoo in our backyard - there's a small rain frog that lives in this big funnel plant, and a chameleon that sits in the small tree in front of my parents' bedroom window. Also, I suspect there's a bit of mole-snake activity, hence Im a bit scared to go out and while my hours away in front of something with a glass screen, be it the t.v, computer or microwave :P

So today me and the parental figure went about catching a fly. And when I say catch I mean temporarily stun it so that we can slip a noose around its neck and dangle it in front of Plascon (the chameleon)
( but he's also known as Colourman, which is a direct translation of Verkleurmannetjie in Afrikaans)
. You wouldnt believe me, but we actually got the fly stunned by swiping at it with with a dishcloth. My dad seized the insect and ordered me to tie the thread around its neck but I was laughing so hard, I had tears streaming down my face and that sorta reduced my vision to a big blur - just the thought of humans trying to lasso a fly was enough.
So finally, after he got away and we recaught him, he got away again.

Luckily we found a small green grasshopper and tied that up with the thread, but he promptly amputated his own leg and was gone.
So finally we settle on a cricket and fed it to Plascon.
He was very happy, albeit eyeing us suspiciously.
Gotta love those little buggers.

And you know what would be incredibly scary? If chameleons could walk on their hindlegs.
They'd look like tiny dinosaurs....
oooooooooooo......
